Other Ideas for Schools
Some other ideas often used in the schools include:
- Right To Play Day - Schools may dedicate a morning or afternoon to playing Right To Play educational games with small groups of students as they rotate through different game zones. There is a Play Day Manual produced by Right To Play available to guide you. The games are designed to promote healthier lifestyle behaviours, teach peaceful conflict resolution and education students about the situations of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
Play for Change/ Right To Play Week - This is a week-long fundraiser and awareness campaign empowering elementary school classrooms to set a goal to fill a "jar of hope" with coins students find in their home. Throughout the week the teachers can teach various lessons from the Learning to Play, Playing to Learn resource and show Right To Play DVDs to educate their students about children they are helping overseas. At the end of the week, students will be rewarded with an extra 15 minutes of play time to exercise their right to play.
